Clinton is going to win in Penn.
Just my call. I don’t think Barack can eke out a win here from this far behind, although he might surprise with an especially strong showing. But I doubt it. The best bet is (more…)
Bitter
Obama says we’re “bitter”. And you know what? You bet my bippy I’m bitter! I’m bitter about this whole damn nomination race that’s become an exercise of futility and nit-picking. I’m bitter about the last 8 years of bickering, warmaking and fiscal irresponsibility. I’m bitter at the constant erosion of my rights, the persistent fearmongering and the coziness between big business and the elected representatives of the people.
If you’ve been shafted for 8 years, wouldn’t you be bitter. (more…)

Hormones ‘may fuel market crisis’
In other news, McCain’s “stimulus package” will now include Viagra and testosterone boosts.
Introducing Iowa
Well, IowaJim - I’m not even sure if he’s from Iowa. I’ve been caught up with work schtuff back home for the past week and I simply haven’t had the opportunity to hammer out my typical word pile. So I’m getting Jim to come in and provide me with filler. He’s been bitching at me over Skype for a while now and I figure he might as well bitch at me here.
As if the name wasn’t enough of a tipoff. It isn’t as bad as it seems; FM likes Obama, I like Obama. Just so long as he lays off the McCain lovin’ n’ Clinton hatin’ - Jim
Authenticity
Stumper on Newsweek had a really nice article about authenticity. I like these kind of articles…they speak my lingo.
I like PCs by the way. Macs can suck it.
McCain Isn’t Sitting Pretty
It’s hard to think about the democratic race without wondering how much the acrimonious fight between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is helping John McCain. I think that it is, without a doubt, but worries that it will cost the Democrats the election are still premature – McCain has his own problems and all the extended Democrat fight will do is provide him with a more even playing field.
The long and the short of it, (more…)
Political War Machines.
Back in December, I spoke with my boss about the American elections. Already, back then it was heating up into an interesting race…between the two democratic candidates. The Republican field was fractured with no major powers in play after the collapse of John McCain in September. The democrats, on the other hand, were motivated and pumped up by the lamentable George W. Bush Presidency and the prospect of a history-making choice of nominees (sorry Mr. Edwards, this just wasn’t your year). When discussing the choice of candidates, I tipped Hillary Clinton for the nomination – not on strength of her candidacy but because of the perceived power of the Clinton political machine. I’d expected her to make a quick hash out of Obama regardless of the fact that I believed Barack was really the better of the two candidates.
Well, I guess that’s what comes from being an outside observer. I’m sure (more…)
The Demeaning Checkbox
Demographers, pollsters and scientists have a lot to answer for. The New York Times ran a story about Barack Obama and how citizens of composite origins identify with him. The article wrote about people being pigeonholed into “Black”, “White” ore “Asian”. What I found most repulsive, however, was the suggestion that one had to be 100% black/white/asian – whatever – to “fit in”. Alright, so I admit I’m living with my head in a hole…honestly, I’ve known of this at the intellectual level, so it’s really a matter of something triggering my self-righteous indignation enough to post a psychopathic rant about things that I long ago filed away to simmer at the back of my mind.
Anyone who’s read my previous posts (more…)
